The Maasai are an indigenous, semi-nomadic tribe of Eastern Africa, who settled in Kenya and northern Tanzania near Kilimanjaro. Because of their distinct customs, dress, traditions and their close links to national parks (such as the Serengeti), the Maasai are among the foremost African ethnic groups.
